All
are aware that cooling tower works on
evaporation principle.
So one can best achieve wet bulb
temperature in cooling tower .
In majority cases, this cooling fan
remains ON due to many reasons, like no
temperature control, setting much below the
achievable temperature etc.
Cooling tower fan consumes heavy
electrical power and electricity is becoming
costlier every day.
We
have two models to control cooling tower
fan.
Model
One : Set point adjustment with respect to
wet bulb temperature.
Model
Two
: Set point independent of wet bulb
i.e. adjustable from 20 to 500C.
Model
One
:
One
can adjust set point from 2 to 30C below
wet bulb temperature to + 500C.
Differential is adjustable from 1 to
90C.
So cooling tower fan cuts off if
chilled water temperature falls below set
temperature.
It starts when water temperature
rises above the set point + differential (Hysterises)
setting.
In day time wet bulb temperature may
rises.
The cut off temperature automatically
get adjusted to this change in wet bulb
temperature (As one can not achieve much
below wet bulb temperature using cooling
tower).
So, one can not set much below the
wet bulb temperature.
Precaution: one has to look after wet bulb
sensor and water level.
Model
Two :
For
ease of operation, we have “ Model Two”.
There is no web bulb reference in
this model and set point is adjustable from
+ 20 to + 500C.
Rest is same as model one.
In
both the models controller controls master
starter of fan and it is irrespective of fan
HP rating.
So, one can manually also control fan
using existing starter.
Fan
off time is recorded on hour meter provided
on the controller.
So one can easily monitor the
electricity saving form month/year or any
specific interval. |
